Inter never considered moving the Derby d’Italia against Juventus to tomorrow, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Lega Serie A president Paolo Dal Pino suggested that the game be played on Monday rather than on the 13th May, but the Nerazzurri never considered the idea, thinking it was almost impossible.

There are three main reasons why Inter refused to play Juventus tomorrow, the report continues. The first is that it doesn’t make any sense to play a game only 24 hours after postponing it due to fears of the Coronavirus, as it’s not like the danger of the virus will change in only one day.

The second reason is that the stadium in Turin would have been open only to Juventus fans, an obvious issue for the Milanese club. The third and final reason is that by moving the game to Monday, Juventus’ Coppa Italia clash against AC Milan would have had to be moved to Thursday, the same day as Napoli’s cup game against Inter. Rai could have complained about this, as they hold the TV rights to the tournament.
