Lega Serie A president Paolo Dal Pino was convinced to postpone the five Serie A games by multiple different parties, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.
The report details how Vincenzo Spadafora, Minister of Sport, and Massimiliano Fedriga, governor of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, both supported the postponement of Udinese’s clash against Fiorentina, with the club’s owners the Pozzo family also supporting postponement.
FIGC president Gabriele Gravina was also decisive in the matter, the report continues. The message sent by Gravina was clear, that the games should be postponed because otherwise the world sees a country at the mercy of the Coronavirus. The Derby d’Italia between Juventus and Inter is an example of this, considering how many foreign fans there are of both teams.
Juventus are happy with the postponement, the report highlights. The Bianconeri will now not lose out of around €5 million in ticket revenue.
