In an interview with Radio Capital earlier on today, Marco Tronchetti Provera, the chief executive of Inter’s main shirt sponsor Pirelli, has had his say on Inter president Steven Zhang’s attack on Lega Serie A president Paolo Dal Pino.

Clearly angered by the confusing situation relating to postponed fixtures and the tricky rescheduling process, Zhang took to Instagram and did not hold back as he launched an attack against Dal Pino.

Zhang accused Dal Pino of not taking public health seriously and making it the number one priority and also went so far as to call Dal Pino a clown.

Tronchetti Provera however believes that this is not needed and it is time for everyone to come together to reach an agreement although he did admit that he can see the logic behind Zhang’s outburst, which he posted on an Instagram story late last night.

“I hope that football will soon turn the page. We need to have the ability to be together. Maybe now they will find a way to reason with one another,” Tronchetti Provera began the interview.

“Football has the wonder of partisanship but in some moments it must be serious too. I hope for the fans that it is. There has been no homogeneity in behaviour.

“People need to talk to each other, agree and not make certain choices public when they are not yet shared. There has been a bit of confusion but let’s hope everything goes back to normal very quickly.

“For the fans sake we need homogeneous behaviour. It’s a complicated situation and people need to sit down [and hold discussions]. The reaction of the Inter president has a logical basis.”
