Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has called for another meeting to outline a precise strategy to deal with the current problems Serie A is facing after a number of fixtures have been postponed.

Nine Serie A fixtures have been postponed in the past two weeks and both of the Coppa Italia semi final second legs were postponed too.

Lega Serie A are currently faced with a logistical nightmare as they try to work out a solution and find dates for the postponed games to be played upon.

Inter have had three of their past four scheduled matches across all competitions postponed due to the presence of Coronavirus in Italy and whilst Juventus-Inter looks set to take place this weekend, it remains a mystery when it comes to when the postponed league match against Sampdoria and cup match against Napoli will be played.

“We are going forward waiting for the latest provisions from the government. Now it is important to have meet again to elaborate on a common strategy to give some regularity to the Serie A and to guarantee the continuity of all our clubs,” Marotta remarked in an interview with Italian news agency ANSA following this afternoon’s Lega Serie A council meeting in Rome.

“Its too bad about today, it lacked legal power, we need a new meeting, whether that be formal or informal, in which we decide a precise strategy to safeguard the sport and each individual club.”
