Inter intend to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

Inter had went in for the experienced French national team forward in the recent January transfer window and had reportedly agreed terms with Chelsea as well as terms with the player himself but in the end the move never materialised.

Giroud’s contract with the Premier League club is due to expire at the end of this campaign and Inter are therefore thinking about bringing him in on a free transfer to bolster their attacking department.

Inter face competition from fellow Serie A side Lazio for the signature of the former Arsenal striker but the report insists that the Nerazzurri are ahead of the Biancocelesti club.

This season Giroud has found playing time extremely limited due to the emergence of several young players at Chelsea and as a result he has made just 12 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has scored twice.
