Christian Eriksen’s recent arrival at Inter has forced Antonio Conte into thinking about version 2.0 of his Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The recently turned 28-year-old Danish national team player joined Inter in the January transfer window in a circa €20 million deal from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

Eyebrows were raised at the time as Eriksen is naturally an attacking midfielder, a role which does not exist in Conte’s 3-5-2 system, the system he has used almost exclusively up until recently.

Conte has not given up on his tried and tested 3-5-2 system, far from it, but Eriksen’s arrival has forced him into thinking about new ideas.

Since Eriksen’s arrival at the Nerazzurri, former national team manager Conte has done some tactical tinkering in games which has seen the team play a number of different systems that allow Eriksen to play in his natural role.
