Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has not signed a contract extension with the club as he is waiting on Barcelona and Real Madrid making moves for him according to a report from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.
The two great rivals have been strongly linked with making moves for the highly rated 22-year-old striker, who has netted 16 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions to date.
Some reports elsewhere in the media have stated that Barcelona could make Inter an offer which exceeds the player’s €111 million release clause. For financial reasons, Barcelona are not so keen to make such a big outlay but could still offer a decent sum of cash and sweeten the deal for Inter by offering players.
As for Real Madrid, it has been reported that they will be unable to launch any move for the former Racing Club player until they clear a non-EU player registration spot.
Lautaro currently earns around €2 million a season and reports have suggested that both Barcelona and Real Madrid could offer him three times that to go and play for them instead.
