Legendary World Cup winning full back Cafu has shared his belief that the race for this season’s Serie A title will go right down to the wire.

As things currently stand, Lazio are sitting top of the table with 62 points to their name having played 26 games. Juventus are in second place with 60 points having played a game less and Inter are in third with 54 points having played 24 games.

“The fight for the title this year is much more intense. Juve, Lazio and Inter are doing extraordinary things,” the former AC Milan and Roma defender began an interview with juvenews.eu.

Cafu, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time, then went on to speak a little more on each of the three sides currently fighting it out for the Scudetto.

“Lazio are a very well organised side and have one of the best managers in Inzaghi in charge. Juventus are Juventus and they are still the strongest. Inter are having a wonderful season. It has been a very difficult season and I think it will be decided on the last day.”

Cafu spent 11 years playing in Italy during his 19 year playing career with six of those years spent with Roma and the other five being with AC Milan, with him forming an integral part of the successful AC Milan side of the mid 2000s.
