Getafe manager Jose Bordalas has heaped pressure on his side’s upcoming Europa League opponents Inter by insisting that they are the favourites over his side.

Both sides are set to meet in the Europa League last 16 in the coming weeks with the first leg due to take place at Inter’s San Siro stadium next week on Thursday March 12. The return leg at Getafe’s Coliseum Alfonso Pérez is due to take place the following week.

“Inter are a great team and we are certainly not the favourites for these matches,” Bordalas remarked in an interview with Spanish radio station Radio Marca late last night.

He then went on to discuss the fact that the first leg will be played behind closed doors in Milan due to concerns over Coronavirus.

“Playing without the fans is not pleasant for anyone. We will have to face the trip to Milan with due attention and the necessary measures will be taken.”

Getafe finished second in their Europa League group behind FC Basel and in front of FC Krasnodar and Trabzonspor and pulled off an upset as they beat last season’s Champions League semi-finalists Ajax in the last 32 3-2 on aggregate.
