Inter coach Antonio Conte will have to wait until next season to face his former fans, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how tomorrow’s Derby d’Italia between the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri in the Allianz Stadium in Turin will be played behind closed doors, without any fans present, as a response to the Coronavirus emergency. The game was supposed to be played last week, but was postponed due to fears surrounding the virus.

Conte has not returned to the Allianz Stadium since leaving as coach back in 2014. Two months earlier, the Juventus fans cheered for him, saying: “Without you we won’t go far… because you are the best and you have Juve in your heart!”. Since joining Inter, there has been some anger from Juventus fans, who believe that they have been betrayed by the 50-year-old Italian coach. There likely wouldn’t have been a pleasant welcome to Inter CEO Beppe Marotta either, who previously worked for the Bianconeri.
