The FIGC has called for an emergency Federal Council to be set for Tuesday, 10th March next week, according to a report from Italian news outlet ANSA earlier today.
The report details how the FIGC are responding to the request made by Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora. The Politician suggested that the league should be called off until the virus has been dealt with. Others have also called for a postponement of the league, such as President of the Italian National Olympic Committee Giovanni Malagò.
FIGC President Gabriele Gravina has convened an emergency Federal Council for Tuesday next week in response, the report continues. Gravina has come under criticism for his unwillingness to postpone the league entirely, instead pushing for the games to be played behind closed doors, in order to ensure the regularity of the league.
Inter still don’t have a date available for their postponed game against Sampdoria, meaning that a win against Juventus tonight will still see the Turin based club be three points behind their rivals.
