Getafe defender Damian Suarez spoke to gathered reporters at a press conference today, after the Spanish side’s league clash against Celta Vigo. He discussed the Europa League clash against Inter, which will be played behind closed doors.

His words were noted by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

“It would be a good thing for us to play with our fans against Inter, but it’s not up to us.”

The Spanish Ministry of Health have requested that the return fixture in Spain will also be played behind closed doors, in order to ensure the safety of their fans and players, as well as the safety of those in the region.

The Italian region of Lombardy, where Inter is based, has been quarantined by the Italian government following an increasing amount of positive cases of the Coronavirus in the region. 11 other provinces in North Italy have also been quarantined to ensure that the virus won’t spread further and put the whole country at risk.

Inter progressed to the Round of 16 of the Europa League after beating Bulgarian side Ludogorets in the previous round.
