Inter have the best defensive record away in the league, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the Nerazzurri have only conceded 12 goals away from home so far this season, the lowest in the league. This is thanks to the tactical system of coach Antonio Conte, who has been keen to remind the squad that the team with the best defence usually wins the league.
Conte will also be able to count on captain Samir Handanovic, the report continues. The 35-year-old Slovenian shot stopper, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2021, will be returning to the pitch after missing six games due to a hairline fracture in his left little finger.
Handanovic has made 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2610 minutes. In that time, he’s conceded 29 goals and kept eight clean sheets.
