Inter Captain Handanovic Hoping To Extend Contract With The Club

Samir Handanovic is hoping to extend his contract with Inter by at least another season according to a report in today’s print edition of Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The Slovenian shot-stopper and Inter captain is currently under contract with the club until the end of next season and the report goes on to state that he is likely to have a new back-up next season.

During his recent absence, it became apparent that current back-up goalkeeper Daniele Padelli is not up to scratch and for this reason Inter are now thinking about a new goalkeeper who could serve as Handanovic’s deputy and possibly succeed him.

Ionut Andrei Radu is expected to return to Inter at the end of the season from his loan at Parma and could fulfil the role but Inter could go in for Udinese’s Juan Musso.

The report from the Turin newspaper goes on to conclude that Padelli will sign a one year contract extension and take up the role of third goalkeeper next season from Tomasso Berni.
