Inter coach Antonio Conte discussed the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 defeat to Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in Turin in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV immediately after the game.

“The match was balanced, we were having a good game in the second half too. Maybe we conceded goals in our best moment.

“The disadvantage had a negative influence not only on the scoreboard, but also on the psychological level, we lost a bit of self-esteem and confidence. These are situations that need to be worked on. We need to grow in experience and personality. Disappointed for the result.”

The 50-year-old Italian coach then spoke about the mistake in making comparisons between the Milanese side and the Old Lady.

“If we have to make comparisons, in my opinion these comparisons must be made on the team we faced today. They have great quality on the pitch, a lot of experience and personality. We mustn’t forget that for eight years they’ve been winning and adding piece by piece.

“They have a very high-quality squad. We’re trying to raise the bar but it will take time and patience. We have to give credit to the guys who, besides the match against Sampdoria, the gap with Juve comes from the two éncounters.”

Finally, Conte spoke about the Coronavirus emergency that Italy is currently experiencing and what should be done.

“We are all human beings, we all have a family. The situation is worrying everyone a bit. Having said that, there are suitable components to make the best decisions. Health always comes first, today the most important thing is the protection of the people.”

Inter are currently third in the league table after playing 25 games, sitting six points ahead of fourth place Atalanta and eight points behind second place Lazio.

Both Juventus and Lazio have placed an extra game compared to the Nerazzurri, whose postponed game against Sampdoria still doesn’t have a date set yet for the game to be played.

Yesterday’s loss against Juventus was the Nerazzurri’s third so far this season, with the other loss being to Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio in Rome, who are now fighting for the league title against the Turin based club.
