Inter legend Beppe Bergomi discussed the Nerazzurri’s tough 2-0 defeat to Juventus in the Derby d’Italia in Turin last night in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.
First, the 56-year-old Italian discussed the balance of the game.
“The match was balanced until the goal, after which Inter’s difficulties and Juventus’ dribbling qualities emerged. I only saw Juventus’ management skills in this match, Inter never created a small problem for them.
“Inter are a team that never succeed in the big games to have continuity in two halves, they play a good one and then the other one is poor.”
Finally, Bergomi also spoke about the performance of former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen, who failed to have a large impact against the Old Lady in the Allianz Stadium.
“I gave a little bit of criticism when he was introduced. The problem is that many times we don’t know the players. He’s not a rip-off, he’s a different type of midfielder than you have.
“Right now, you have to change something in order to find space for him.”
Inter are now third in the league table after playing 25 games, sitting on 54 points. They are now nine points behind league leaders and rivals Juventus, who have played an extra game compared to the Nerazzurri as the Milanese side still need to play against Sampdoria.
The game against the Ligurian side was postponed due to the Coronavirus emergency and a date for the game to be played has still not been set yet.
