After consultation with health experts amid the ongoing Coronavirus situation, which has now been upgraded to pandemic status by the World Health Organisation, Lega Serie A have made a recommendation to clubs.

Lega Serie A have recommended that teams not participating in European competitions stop training for at least the next week.

Players will receive more advice on what they must do during this period but are already being urged to stay at home and not participate in social events that are not necessary.

Lega Serie A remain in contact with health experts and will develop a more precise plan which will concern preventive, behavioural and logistical aspects.

Serie A is currently on hold until at least April 3 due to an Italian government decree and there is great uncertainty surrounding what will happen to the remainder of the season.

Some reports have went so far as to suggest that the season may not be completed and playoffs may be required to decide things such as who will be named champions of Italy.
