Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has insisted that he is happy to be at Arsenal whilst speculation continues to mount regarding his future with the club.
The 30-year-old’s contract with the north London club is due to expire at the end of next season and various reports in recent months have suggested he has no interest in a contract extension as he wants to be somewhere he can play regular Champions League football.
Reports have suggested that Arsenal could be forced into selling him to avoid losing him for nothing the following Summer and Inter are one of a few clubs to have been linked with a move for the Gabonese international.
“It means a lot [to play here]. When I was younger I used to watch Arsenal because they always had great players and they won trophies as well. I think it is really a pleasure to be here, I am really happy – that’s my feeling,” he explained in an interview with Arsenal’s official club website.
Aubameyang has been with the Gunners since January 2018 and has made just shy of 100 appearances across all competitions for them. In 97 appearances, the former Borussia Dortmund man has scored a total of 61 goals and provided 13 assists for his teammates.
