European football’s governing body UEFA have announced that all of next week’s matches in their competitions are postponed through way of an official statement on their website.
This decision comes as a result of the ever developing situation when it comes to the global Coronavirus pandemic and means that all Champions League last 16, Europa League last 16 and UEFA Youth League quarter final fixtures will not go ahead as planned thus meaning Getafe versus Inter will not be taking place at all.
UEFA have confirmed that the draws for the next round in each of the competitions, which was due to take place in a week’s time, has also been postponed.
It now remains to be seen what will happen but things are likely to become a lot clearer on Tuesday with UEFA set to meet with officials from their 55 member associations among many other people to work out what to do going forward.
