Slovakia national team manager Pavel Hapal has shared his belief that Inter defender Milan Skriniar would like to be part of the team for the upcoming match despite the current situation.

Skriniar and his Inter teammates are currently having to oblige to a period of self-isolation after Juventus defender Daniele Rugani tested positive for Coronavirus.

Immediately after Juventus’ announcement about Rugani’s diagnosis, Inter placed the team into quarantine, something they are reportedly going to be in until at least March 25.

Slovakia are due to play the Republic of Ireland in a European Championship qualifying semi-final in Bratislava on March 26 and it is as yet unclear whether Skriniar will be able to go but Hapal insists that Inter cannot stop the centre back.

“If I had to speak for him, I think he would like to come. If UEFA do not cancel the matches, Inter can not stop him and must let him come here,” he is quoted as saying in an interview with Slovakian news outlet Pravda.sk.

This season Skriniar has made 32 appearances across all competitions, in which he has contributed a single assist.
