Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright discussed Inter target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose future seems destined to be away from the Gunners, in an interview with English broadcaster Premier League Productions.

“If we could imagine him in a better team, I think he would win the Premier League and make it to the Champions League finals. And I think it’s something he deserves. He’s not someone who makes himself heard in the middle of the pitch with shouting, but he gains the leadership of the group thanks to the goals he scores.”

Wright then discussed how important Aubameyang is to the North London club.

“If we took away his Arsenal goals, the Gunners would be in a lot of trouble. We’re talking about a player who has a world-class pace. The next contract will be the last big one of his career. I just hope that the love he has for the club and the fans have for him is enough, but I wouldn’t want to be in his position because it will be hard for him to choose.”

The 30-year-old Gabonese striker, who is contracted to the North London club until 2021, has made 32 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2711 minutes. In that time, he has scored 20 goals and provided one assist, being a core part of both previous coach Unai Emery and current coach Mikel Arteta’s squads.

Inter have been linked with Aubameyang in the past, with the Milanese club appreciating the Gabonese striker’s ability to find the back of the net. With German side Borussia Dortmund, the 30-year-old scored 141 goals and provided 36 assists in 213 appearances.
