There is a lot of doubt surrounding what will happen to players who are currently on loan in Italy, due to the postponement of the league, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how many players are currently on loan at different clubs, including Inter striker Mauro Icardi, who is currently on loan at Paris Saint Germain, and Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan, on loan at Caligari from the Nerazzurri. Should the league be postponed, on loan players’ contracts will expire, putting both the players and the clubs in a difficult position.
It’s necessary for a rewriting of the contracts or an exception made by the League, the report continues, with any decision set to have repercussions on the future. Inter especially are in a difficult situation, considering the number of players out on loan and playing on loan in the squad. Alongside Icardi and Nainggolan, other players out on loan include Ivan Perisic at Bayern Munich, Joao Mario at Lokomotiv Moscow, Valentino Lazaro at Newcastle and Dalbert at Fiorentina.
