Inter coach Antonio Conte has provided Italy coach Roberto Mancini with two star midfielders, although it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to show their talents with the national team this summer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how both Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi joined the Milanese club last summer from Cagliari and Sassuolo respectively and both were considered inexperienced youngsters. However, under the guidance of the former Juventus and Chelsea coach, the two players shined in the squad and quickly established themselves as some of Italy’s strongest midfielders.

Mancini now has the option to choose either or both of the midfielders for his Italy squad, the report continues. Barella’s ball control and constant quick movements make him a strong option, with Sensi’s flair and excellent technique providing a different creative outlet in the midfield. Whilst it seemed that both players had the chance to become heroes for Italy this summer in the European Championship, it seems likely now that the competition will be postponed so that the leagues across Europe can be completed properly.
