Inter forward Alexis Sanchez may return to Spain once his loan spell at Inter is over, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the English newspaper the Daily Mail.

The report details how the 31-year-old Chilean, who is on loan at Inter from Premier League side Manchester United, is destined to return to England at the end of this season, with Inter unlikely to make his move to Milan permanent. However, it’s unlikely that he will play for Manchester United upon his return.

Spanish side Atletico Madrid are following the player, the report continues, although they are unhappy about his incredibly high wages. Coach Diego Simeone knows Sanchez well, after having trained him at Argentinian side River Plate in 2008.

Sanchez has made 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Nerazzurri, for a total of 596 minutes. In that time, he’s scored one goal and provided three assists.
