Ashley Young is the only January transfer recruit of Inter’s that has made any sort of impact since his arrival, at least in the eyes of Corriere dello Sport who have praised him in today’s print edition.
Young arrived at the club on an initial six month deal for a nominal fee from Manchester United and given he is 34-years-old there were certainly lots of reservations as to why Inter brought in someone of his age but Young has proved that age is just a number.
The Englishman has performed consistently well since joining the Nerazzurri unlike Victor Moses or Christian Eriksen. Moses has struggled for minutes since coming in whilst Eriksen is still taking time to adapt to his new surroundings, much to the frustration of fans who were expecting the Dane to hit the ground running.
There is an option for Young’s contract to be extended until the end of next season and based off of his performances in his first few months with the club, it would appear almost certain that he will be with the club next season too.
