The Italian players associations (AIC) will meet today in a bid to try and find a way forward for football during the ongoing crisis situation according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The AIC board of directors are to meet this afternoon to discuss several topics but it is understood that the issue of potential salary cuts or suspensions will not be discussed.

As per the report from the Rome based newspaper, the 24 person board, which is headed by Damiano Tommasi and includes the likes of Inter’s Andrea Ranocchia, Juventus’ Giorgio Chiellini and Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi, will attempt to come to a decision on when training can resume.

All sporting activity in Italy is currently on hold until at least April 3 so training will certainly not resume before that date. Some clubs have pushed for training to resume immediately but the vast majority are willing to wait it out until it is safe to do so.
