Inter centre back Diego Godin has sent a message of support during these difficult times with Italy currently in complete lockdown due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic.

The 34-year-old Uruguayan national team defender joined the club on a free transfer this past Summer following the expiration of his deal with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and he has since went on to make 25 appearances across all competitions for the club, in which he has contributed a single assist.

In a video which was shared across Inter’s social media channels Godin said: “This message is to send you my best wishes and to give you all encouragement and strength. Make sure you stay indoors. Let’s all stay at home like I am doing. I’m sure that if we all do our duty we’ll get out of this together.

“If you’d like to make a donation, you can go to Inter’s Facebook page. There you can continue to help those people who really need it most. Best wishes and I’m sure that it will all be alright, we’ll do it together. All the best.”
