Olivier Giroud will not sign a contract extension with Chelsea to enable him to become a free agent in the coming months according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Giroud drew strong links to Inter in the recent transfer window but no move materialised in the end. A move might however happen in the Summer though.

Giroud has knocked back the chance to sign a one year contract extension with the Premier League club with it understood that Inter are prepared to give him a two year contract to come in and be the back-up to Romelu Lukaku.

Lazio also showed a keen interest in signing him in recent weeks but the report states that their interest in the Frenchman has cooled in recent weeks.

The 33-year-old, who has been with his current employers since January 2018, has made 13 appearances across all competitions to date this term in which he has scored three goals.
