Inter defender Diego Godin has taken to photo sharing social media platform Instagram to confirm that he has returned to Uruguay to be with family during the currently ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic.

The centre back is one of seven players that Inter have granted permission to return home to and he has urged people to follow the advice given out by the authorities to stay at home during this difficult time.

The 34-year-old, who joined Inter this past Summer, said: “I left Italy after authorisation from the club, the doctor and the health authorities. I have to quarantine here, be responsible and aware of the situation. I obviously recommend everyone to stay at home because it is the only way to deal with this pandemic; listen to the indications that the authorities are giving us. I send you a hug.”
