Inter coach Antonio Conte gifted 12 computers to the school in a Turin hospital yesterday, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Corriere di Torino.

The report details how the Lecce born coach donated the 12 to the Regina Margherita di Torino hospital’s school, which is intended for children’s usage. Tiziana Catenazzo, head teacher of the school, discussed the donation, saying: “An unexpected gift. We had spoken with him and his wife Elisabetta the day before, to talk about the difficulties in neuropsychiatry.”

Catenazzo also highlighted how Conte’s gift will allow the children to establish a relationship with their teachers from a distance, currently impossible given the situation gripping north Italy.

“Because of the coronavirus emergency, even those hospitalized in child neuropsychiatry were left without teachers, without mobile phones, without computers for distance learning. With the gift of the Conte we will be able to re-establish with them a minimum of relationship, even more precious in this period.”

Finally, Catenazzo touched on how Conte’s gesture will make a real difference to the students.

“It is a gesture of particular attention and usefulness that we appreciate very much. The absence of the school, the real one, in reality, causes enormous discomfort to the hospitalized students because education is an integral part of the therapeutic protocol.”

Conte has previously spent two spells of his life in Turin, the first as a Juventus player in the years 1991 to 2004, before returning as head coach from 2011 to 2014. The Lecce born coach considers the city his second home and maintains many friendships there.
