Inter target Marash Kumbulla is now also being targeted by fellow Italian side Lazio, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 20-year-old Albanian defender, who is contracted to Hellas Verona until 2022, has long been in Inter’s notebook, with the Milanese side near the front of the line in the negotiations for him. Lazio, however, could provide strong competition for his signature.

The Biancocelesti have one small advantage, the report continues. Both the club’s sporting director Igli Tare and their starting goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha are Albanian and could convince their compatriot to join the Roman club. The player’s value may also drop due to the ongoing Coronavirus emergency. Whilst initial valuations were in the region of €20-25 million, when the transfer market opens, he could be purchased for less.

Kumbulla has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1581 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and impressed with his strong performances.
