Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli is Inter’s top transfer target for the upcoming summer transfer window, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri want to continue their work of ‘Italianising’ the squad and believe Castrovilli would be the perfect option for their midfield. Moreover, the Milanese club aren’t certain to enact the buy option on Italian midfielder Stefano Sensi, who is currently on loan from Sassuolo. Inter are worried about his constant injuries and that Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen plays the same role.

Castrovilli would cost Inter around €40 million, the report continues, although Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso is likely to offer him another year on his contract in order to convince him to remain at the club. Other players that Inter are following closely include Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali and Fiorentina talisman Federico Chiesa, both matching Inter’s goal of signing more Italian players.
