Three clubs, including Inter, are interested in signing Napoli forward Dries Mertens, who still hasn’t reached an agreement for a new contract with the Partenopei, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Naples based newspaper Il Mattino.

The report details how the 32-year-old Belgian forward, who is contracted to Napoli until the end of this season, met with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis over the last few weeks to discuss a contract renewal. Despite the optimism surrounding the meetings and their contents, no agreement has been reached yet.

Three clubs are looking to sign Mertens as a free agent in the summer, the report continues. Inter, Premier League side Chelsea and Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are all keen on the 32-year-old. Mertens himself has reportedly requested at least €6 million net per season plus a signing bonus from the interested parties. Napoli, however, have not lost confidence and believe they will reach an agreement with Mertens soon.
