Lautaro Martinez wants a new and improved contract from Inter if he snubs a Summer transfer window move elsewhere according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The highly rated 22-year-old striker has drawn links to a number of other clubs ahead of the next transfer market including Spanish giants Barcelona, who are understood to see him as their number one transfer target.

The report claims that Barcelona have already tabled Martinez a contract offer and the player, who has also been linked with Manchester City, wants a new deal to reflect his status at Inter if he opts against leaving.

His current contract is due to expire at the end of the 2022/23 season but his wages certainly do not match those a player of his quality should have.

This season he has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists for his Nerazzurri teammates.
