In an interview with Italian newspaper Quotidiano del Piave, Inter owned striker Samuele Longo has shared his belief that he is good enough to play in Serie A.
The 28-year-old striker is currently out on loan at Serie B club Venezia but has backed himself to be capable of playing in Italy’s top flight, something he has managed 48 times during his playing career, which has consisted almost entirely of loan moves.
Longo is a product of Inter’s academy but has in fact made just two competitive appearances for the Nerazzurri first team.
Since making his Inter first team debut in 2011, he has went on to have 11 loan spells, including his current one with Venezia which began in January.
This season Longo has made a total of 22 appearances between his spell with Venezia and loan spell with Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna. In 1236 minutes on the park, he has scored four goals and tallied a single assist.
“At this moment I am only concentrating on Venezia, however I think I have the qualities to carve out a space in Serie A,” he remarked when asked about what the future could hold for him.
