River Plate could accept less than the release clause in Lucas Martinez Quarta’s contract according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.
The highly rated Argentine centre back has drawn links with both Inter and AC Milan in recent weeks and months among other clubs and he has a €22 million release clause in his contract.
However, River Plate could well accept a deal in the region of €15-18 million for the 23-year-old, whose contract with the club is due to expire in little over a year’s time.
Martinez Quarta could be one of several additions that Inter make to their defence for the coming season, the report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to add.
Inter have also been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur’s Jan Vertonghen, whose contract with Spurs is due to expire in a matter of months.
Moreover, Inter have been linked with Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Evan N’Dicka and Torino’s Armando Izzo.
