Tommaso Giulini, the president of Cagliari, has confirmed that the club will try to sign Radja Nainggolan on a permanent basis from Inter if the conditions are there for them to do so.

Nainggolan returned to the Sardinian club on a season long loan this past Summer and has found his best form again at the Rossoblu after a difficult season with Inter last season.

The 31-year-old only joined on a dry loan but Giulini has refused to rule out the possibility of Nainggolan remaining with the club past the end of this season.

“If there are the conditions to make him stay we will try. Radja has shown this year how important he is to the team. It is a very complicated negotiation. With this situation it is difficult to say whether it will stay or not,” he is quoted as saying by Cagliarinews24.com.

This season Nainggolan has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date. In almost 2000 minutes on the field, the former Roma player has scored five goals and he has also provided a total of six assists for his teammates.

Nainggolan joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 from Roma in a player plus cash deal and he still has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2021/22 season.
