Inter are at work trying to reach an agreement over a contract with pending free agent Olivier Giroud according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
The French national team striker, who was part of France’s 2018 World cup winning squad, is out of contract at the end of the season and could end up at Inter in the coming months.
Inter manager Antonio Conte is already in contact with the player and Conte would be very happy if Giroud was to sign as he would therefore have the Romelu Lukaku alternative that he wanted in January but did not get.
The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to state that Inter are also working on signing another pending free agent in Tottenham Hotspur’s Jan Vertonghen.
In are however not the only club interested in signing the Belgian national team centre back with the report adding that both Roma and Napoli are also keen on him.
