There are two hypotheses out there on how the current football season can be resumed and finished according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

European football’s governing body UEFA, the European Club Association and UEFA member federations are working around the clock to try and come up with the best solution.

The first idea is to resume play at the end of May or beginning of June, on either May 31 or June 3. Domestic games would be played every three days for the first three weeks in June and in the fourth week the Champions League and Europa League will resume. By doing this, all competitions will finish by August 3 just like UEFA want.

The other idea is there in the event that football does not resume until mid-June. If this is the case, domestic games will be played and finished by August 2 and then the Champions League and Europa League will be played and concluded by the end of August.
