The 2020/21 Serie A season could start at the end of August or in mid-September according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
The current season is on hold due to the global Coronavirus pandemic and there appears to be a real desire for the season to be resumed and then concluded and due to this, the start date of next season will likely have to be pushed back.
By starting on Sunday August 30 or Sunday September 13, there will be enough time for all domestic and continental competitions to be played prior to June 1, the day players will be released by their teams to join their respective national teams for the European Championship’s and Copa America, which were moved from this Summer to next due to the pandemic.
Starting beyond the latter date will make it particularly difficult for things to be finished by the above deadline.
