Serie A clubs have voted unanimously in favour of wages being cut due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, Lega Serie A have confirmed.

All clubs barring Juventus cast a vote in favour of wages potentially being cut by up to a third to help mitigate the financial damage that Coronavirus has caused.

Juventus did not partake in the voting process having already reached an agreement of their own with their players that will see Bianconeri players not get a salary for the months of March, April, May or June, something which will reportedly save Juventus close to €100 million.

As per Serie A’s release, in the event that the 2019/20 season does resume, wages will be cut by a third but if the season does not resume wages will be cut by a sixth. It adds that it will be at the discretion of all 19 clubs to reach agreements with the players.
