Paris Saint Germain have decided that they will take up their option to buy on loan striker Mauro Icardi according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The 27-year-old Argentine joined the reigning French champions this past Summer on a season long loan and PSG can sign him up on a permanent basis for €70 million.

The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to state that it remains to be seen if there actually is a clause which allows Icardi to veto any permanent move to PSG.

There have been contrasting reports in the media about its existence and Corriere dello Sport report that Icardi’s representatives claim it exists whilst Inter have denied its existence.

Whilst in the French capital, former Sampdoria player Icardi has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. In almost 2000 minutes on the park he has scored 20 goals and provided four assists.
