Paris Saint Germain intend to take up the option they have to buy on loan striker Mauro Icardi from Inter according to a report from French news outlet Le Parisien.

The 27-year-old Argentine striker joined the reigning French champions on a season long loan this past Summer and they have until May 31 to activate their option to buy, which will cost them a sum of no less than €70 million.

Icardi has performed well in the French capital since his arrival and with PSG legend Edinson Cavani set to leave the club when his contract expires, PSG already have Icardi there to replace him.

The former Barcelona academy player, who has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2021/22 season, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date this term.

In just shy of 2000 minutes on the field, Icardi has scored 20 goals and he has also provided four assists for his teammates.
