Velez Sarsfield sporting director Pablo Cavallero has appeared to deny reports in the media which have suggested that Inter have made an offer to sign young talent Thiago Almada.

A report from Argentine broadcaster TNT Sports claimed that Inter had tabled a €25 million offer to the Superliga Argentina outfit for the highly rated midfielder.

Reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that Premier League sides Manchester City and Arsenal are both also keen on signing the wonderkid.

“There have been calls. We have already received several from club intermediaries, but they have just been enquiries,” Cavallero explained in an interview with TNT Sports late last night.

He then went on to state that Velez will do their utmost to ensure they can get a clause which will give them a percentage of any future sale in any deal they reach with a club over the 18-year-old sensation.

“Will it be difficult to negotiate a deal for him? It depends on what offers will come when the market opens. We will try to defend ourselves and try to get a percentage of future resale clause.”

This season Almada, who has a contract with Velez Sarsfield until 2023, has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored five goals and tallied two assists.
