Roma striker Edin Dzeko has insisted that he feels he made the right choice to remain with the Giallorossi this past Summer.
Near the end of last season and during the Summer transfer window he drew extremely strong links to Inter with it understood that Inter manager Antonio Conte really wanted him.
Dzeko however grew tired of waiting around for the Nerazzurri and in the end he opted to sign a contract extension with Roma until the end of the 2021/22 season.
“I made the right choice to stay and it was not difficult. I am now even more proud to be part of this club which in difficult moments does the important things for all its fans and for people who need a hand,” the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier on today.
As part of the interview, Dzeko also expressed his views regarding the possible resumption of the 2019/20 Serie A season at the end of May or start of June.
“It is a very delicate issue. The most important thing is people’s health. We all love sport and it is part of our lives and when there is no more danger I think it is right to finish the season.”
This season the 34-year-old has made 32 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored 15 goals and provided nine assists for his teammates.
