Inter coach Antonio Conte will not change his tactical system to accommodate Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the 28-year-old former Spurs midfielder has struggled to adapt to Conte’s system after arriving in January. Some have suggested that Conte will change from his preferred formation or tinker with the tactics, but the coach has made it clear that it will be up to Eriksen to adapt to his system, rather than adapting his system for him.
Eriksen has a lot of competition in the position, the report continues. Other options for Conte include Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, Italian midfielders Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi, as well as Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino. The Dane will have to work hard to impress his coach before the end of the season.
Eriksen has made eight appearances for the Nerazzurri so far this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in that time.
