World football’s governing body FIFA are against the idea of having a super long transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
There has been a number of suggestions about how the format of the transfer window could be changed due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic but FIFA have thrown out the idea of a three and a half month long transfer window.
Tomorrow, European football’s governing body UEFA, the European Club Association and European leagues are due to meet to hold talks on various topics among which will be the transfer window.
The report in the Rome based newspaper suggests clubs could well be given a five to seven week window when this season ends, a window in January, which could exceed the traditional four weeks, and then another window in June to help clubs sort out their budgets and reaching Financial Fair Play requirements.
