Many Serie A clubs do not wish to play in the Lombardy region, particularly in Bergamo, if the 2019/20 Serie A season resumes according to a report from Rome based newspaper La Repubblica.

The Lombardy region has been the worst affected region in Italy by the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and clubs are concerned about playing games in the region due to how badly it has been affected.

The report goes on to claim that should football resume, there may be no football played or training carried out in northern parts of Italy meaning 14 Serie A teams would be forced to play the remainder of their games away from their home stadiums and also train away from their training grounds too.

Solutions are being studied and the above may only be a temporary measure until the area is no longer seen to be a risk area.

The report goes on to conclude that football may not resume whatsoever due to the current situation which would come much to the delight of four unnamed clubs who want the season to be over.
