Liverpool have been in contact with the agent of Marcelo Brozovic with regard to a potential transfer according to a report in today’s print edition of Milan based newspaper Libero.

In light of this news, Inter are working on trying to sign the Croatian midfield maestro to a new and improved contract and the €60 million release clause in his current contract will be removed as part of any new deal, the report claims.

The 27-year-old joined the club on an initial 18 month loan back in January 2015 and was signed outright by the club at the end of the loan in the Summer of 2016.

In the past two or so seasons Brozovic has turned into an absolutely integral part of the way the team play and he is now widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in Serie A and in Europe.

This season he has made 32 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and provided five assists.
