Inter and AC Milan are both against the idea of potentially having to play their games away from San Siro should the 2019/20 Serie A season resume according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

In the past few days reports have speculated that games may not take place in the north of the country should the season resume due to some clubs having concerns about travelling to the Lombardy region, which has been the worst affected in all of Italy by the Coronavirus pandemic.

The report goes on to state that playing away from San Siro would undoubtedly be a disadvantage to both clubs, who will not accept such an idea unless the Italian government or local government intervene, even if all games will be played behind closed doors if the season is to resume.

It is presently unclear what other Lombardy based clubs such as Atalanta and Brescia think of the idea of playing all of their remaining games away from home although it can be presumed that they will not be for the idea.
